027: people are crazy and times are strange
I apologize if I've been at all curt or irritable lately. I've been doing my best to offer assistance to those more negatively affected by this recent turn of events than myself, but I'm afraid all the din and chaos has left me with a bit of a headache.

I suppose I shouldn't complain, as I haven't suddenly changed forms or gained an uncontrollable, destructive power. In fact, even after more than 24 hours, I remain uncertain as to what precisely has changed in my own person. It is not necessarily a bad thing, but I've retained some sense of my scientific curiosity -- or perhaps traded mine for someone else's -- and would like a more complete picture of events.

On the bright side of things: even if I'd tried, I could not have come up with a better excuse to get an extension on my lab report -- although I'm not entirely certain when classes will return to their normal schedules, and I don't want to take any chances with my work, not knowing the extent of my current sphere of knowledge -- so it may be a bit of a moot point.

[Simon]

Could you, by any chance, find an alternate place to sleep tonight? I'm not entirely convinced that having you in the room would be such a good idea.

[Violet]

I know that you occasionally have intense, painful visions, but I recall you mentioning that not all of them were like that. Could you please describe for me the other sorts of precognitive visions that you have?

Scientific curiosity.

They're like really intense daydreams. Mostly painless, but very distracting and vivid.

Why curious now?

I see.

I wanted to make sure I haven't had one. I'd be lying if I said your powers weren't at the top of my list -- at the moment, it's between yours and Ludwig Walker's. I'm not entirely sure how his telepathy works, but if I knew a safe way to test for magical aptitude, that would be the next step.

No. No. No no no no

You haven't had any visions yet? There might still be a chanc be other possibilities. Why do you think they could be Ludwig's?

I'm not certain if what I've had were visions, or if there weren't some other explanation. For example, yesterday, just after I commented to Tibby Bradley about the imp she'd accidentally summoned, I had this strange thought -- a bit like a daydream, really -- about what might happen if the imp got out of the refrigerator. Then she commented to me and said that it did get out, but it was all so fast that I wasn't sure if I'd predicted it, or if I'd somehow found her mind and read her thoughts as it happened.

The only other truly significant vis incident occurred this morning, when I imagined Simon turning into a werewolf in our room, but knowing Simon, he could easily have been thinking about it. Perhaps I've somehow received someone's overactive imagination -- either way, I've preemptively asked him to leave the room for the night.

If you don't mind my asking, did you see anything about this before you lost your powers? Assuming, of course, that you've lost your powers -- in which case, congratulations are in order.

Did you see him changing?

I didn't see anything. Not this time.

You mean as a third-person observer? Yes.

Nothing from after it either? Assuming there is an after.

Well, that's it, then. You have mine. Where are you?

Yes. Yes. There wasn't anything to make me think we didn't have our old powers replaced. I hadn't wanted to believe it was t

My room. Both Simon and his typewriter should be gone for the night.

The most closest I've had to an "after" vision involved the typewriter being in here again, but that's hardly conclusive. Do you know whose you have?

Obviously, they're not yours. That should be a relief, I suppose.

No, we've been over this -- with whom, exactly, would I sexile you?

It's more of a general "bad feeling about this" sort of situation. I'm not entirely certain of all the details, but if I were you, I'd either be as far away from other people as possible, or with someone who's received offensive powers.

I'm not entirely sure, and I don't want you to panic, but it's better to be safe than sorry.

That said, do you want to know?
