025: get back up.
I know this post is coming far too late, and on the heels of many other, better-worded apologies, but if anything I said or did in my affected state offended or hurt you, then you have my deepest and most sincere apologies.

In my state of inebriation prior to the attack, I mentioned something about going to the Galapagos Islands. Until further notice, this is false. The Modern Mariner recently lost his albatross, Samuel. If any of you or your families are acquainted with the Mariner, I encourage you to send your sympathy.

For that matter, my condolences for any losses or injuries suffered over the course of this past weekend.

However, instead of dwelling on whatever else might have gone wrong, I would instead like to direct attention and gratitude towards some things that went right:

Fortress Science, regardless of how it ended, wouldn't have been possible in the first place without any of the gadgeteering and adventuring types living in the Science dormitories -- it was their innovation and preparedness, as well as the resourcefulness of those who wound up in Science, that kept the situation in the dorm so safe for so long. Thank you. Specifically, thank you from myself to both Ira and Charlie, for allowing me access to your projects.

Dr. Roux and Thanks for the cure, as often as they have been voiced before, ought to go without saying.

As I have suggested to numerous other penitents, likewise.

It is a shame about your trip, though. Seeing the Galapagos would be fascinating.

I meant to retrace the second voyage of the H.M.S. Beagle.

Like I said before the attack, there are tortoises still living that were there when Darwin first stepped on its shores.

The Modern Mariner's tragedy aside, the potential for the trip did not die alongside his albatross. You will be able to make your trip.

If there's anyone in this school that doesn't need to be lectured fed facts about Darwin, it's me.

I shouldn't impose upon him at this juncture.

I'm sure that's true. I simply find Darwin fascinating.

I didn't mean tomorrow. But you talk like it's been canceled rather than indefinitely postponed. A small distinction, perhaps, but an important one.

Right, thanks. It's a consideration.

I really should have insisted to go with you. I'm sorry.

You weren't even close -- you would have just been putting yourself at unnecessary risk. I don't blame you, and I don't blame you for telling me how to get into the tunnels.

But I know the tunnels really well

I think everyone, bitten or not, have been feeling guilty of their actions.

I am glad you do not blame me for it.

You might be onto something there.

I think we should install a Panic Room.

No, I was being facetious. There isn't enough room in the closet for a Panic Room and all of my shoes, of course.

Sir, you have two pairs of shoes. As a cliche, you are a rousing disappointment.

Okay okay okay, I have an idea though: how about - and stay with me, cause this is some crazy advanced forward thinking science stuff I saw in a movie - a tesseract.

You want to access the fourth dimension in our dorm room.

Or we could do nothing to ensure our safety, and risk a recurrence of Dark Steve.

Which is something you couldn't have done if we were in a panic room!

Of course not. However, I enjoyed knowing that one of my closest friends wasn't going to kill his girlfriend -- as much as I could enjoy it, at any rate.
