I would assume that my opinions on the matter are relatively clear by now.

They haven't rejected that thing yet?

To say that the decision has been a long time coming would be a gross understatement.

I don't see how attempting to stop the future from happening can be cost-effective.

Cost-effective?! It's not. However, I would go so far as to suggest that there is more at stake here than a couple of dollars.

Agreed. There are other cases the CSC should be dealing with instead of exerting so much time and energy attempting to reassure some people that same-sex marriage isn't the certainty that it is.

It isn't optimism. Based on the progression of the gay rights movement in the past fifty years, and similar progressions in earlier civil rights movements, it is a simple fact that these marriages/divorces are going to happen.

I believe you. However, I would rather they happened sooner than later, and the circumstances in the court could easily have changed from the last time this issue was brought up.

Sooner rather than later would be the competent way for them to go about it.

two proponents of good causes for the price of one. i'd propose a picnic lunch, but the idea of the possibility of doing so under the protest option does not excite me.

regardless, i'm there. what time you want to meet up?

While I'm fairly certain that there will be people gathered all day, the FaceSpace event says that the real protest/party won't start until 7:00 p.m., long after the decision's been published. I just sent you an invite, so you can see for yourself.

In the interest of being both prepared and punctual, here's my suggestion: I pick you up around 5:30 and we stop for food and/or supplies somewhere on the way downtown. Does that sound alright to you?

It's not a particularly fascinating story, and I'm sure you're aware of it, even if you don't remember: When Charlie and I skipped school on the average day between our birthdays, somebody submitted a rumor to GossipNet calling our return -- "brorotic," I believe the term was.

If you'd like to, I personally wouldn't object -- although Charlie does bring up a good point, in that edibles might not be the best of ideas under a protest option.

Would you like us to pick you up? There's plenty of room in the car.
